Venus and Rose: symbol of love and health

Rose, I don’t think so that the beauty of this flower can be compared to anything else in the world. Rose has been a prop for many writers, poets and artists all around the world. Poets have glorified the beauty of fair sex using the charm of rose flower. Certain acts of god make us wonder how he is able to create such beautiful things in the world. I don’t think there is any girl who doesn’t like Roses. And definitely it is my favorite flower.

Rose health benefitsIt’s not just the beauty of rose, that makes it most admired flower but, it also possesses miraculous medicinal properties which add to its fame. Rose has accredited many historical moments in its journey. Well going back to history, in Romans use to keep a wild Rose near the door of a room where confidential matters used to be discussed. And Greeks and Romans even associated them with the goddess of love – Aphrodite and Venus. But many of you might not be aware the association of planet Venus and the Rose flower. Well then let me tell you that Venus is the ruling planet of Rose. The common factor between both of them is according to the history, Venus is known as the goddess of love and rose is very well known as the symbol of love. Venus is also the ruling planet of Taurus.

Apart from all this Rose is also well known for many medicinal properties. These properties have been used from middle ages in Europe. Thus, its uses are not new to the world. Due its high content in vitamin C, it has many medicinal uses. The traditional form of Indian medicine ’Ayurveda’ also depicts the many medicinal purposes of rose flower. It is also believed that one cup of rose hips is equal to amount of vitamin C gained from sixty oranges. You may use it in the form of rose tea, dried petals, rosemary oil, rose water, or rose marmalade.

Rose tea is used to cure many ailments. Mix few dried petals or crushed petals to cup of boiling water. Let it boil for few minutes. Bring down the temperature and drain the mixture in a cup. Serve it warm or chilled.

  • Crushed rose petals which are used in rose tea heal urine infection and mellow down the cramps that occur due to menstruation cycle.

  • Rose oil benefitsMassage your body with rose oil to overcome from depression as it has the properties of anti depressant. Even gifting few rose flowers or shopping some rose flowers will lift your mood. It is widely used in spa and Ayurvedic centers.
  • Rose oil works amazing on the high temperature of the body due to fever. Rub down some oil on your forehead it will help in lowering down the temperature.
  • It is a great way in treating your wounds. As it contains the properties of anti septic it is widely used in clearing the germs on wounds. It guards your wound against any infection.
  • Being astringent in nature, rose oil helps in strengthening the roots of hair, gums, muscle contraction and gives relieves to intestines. Rub few amount of rose oil on your stomach to get relieved from upset stomach, inflammations, and infections.

Rose water benefits for skinRose water is used from centuries to enhance the beauty of women. Mixed with milk, it was considered as one of the most luxurious bath. Many of the mixture were made from rose petals which were used by princess and queens. Even distilled rose water was used for many skin troubles. The most beautiful property of rose water is that it can be used for any kind of skin. It is suitable for all kind of skin and thus, has no kind of skin side effects. But, it is very much well known for sensitive, dry, and aging skin. Rose water is inexpensive way to enhance your beauty.

  • Rose water is even used for alleviating high temperature of the body. Whenever you suffer from fever just soak a thick cloth in cool rose water. Drench the water from the cloth and place it on your forehead for few minutes. Change the cloth as it gets warm. It will reduce your fever within few minutes.
  • Rose water is usually mixed with powdered sandalwood and applied to face. Wash off the mixture when it is dried. Your skin will glow in few minutes.
  • Combine rose water with few drops of lime juice. It helps in eliminating acne and pimples.
  • Mix few drops of rose water with honey and apply the mixture to the scars that are left by pimples. It lessens the ugly marks and restores the beauty.
  • Add few drops of rose water to your bath tub. It soothes your swollen feet and calms your brain nerves.

In many parts of the world it is widely used in culinary. The fresh petals are used in garnishing many food items. Many desserts in India are garnished by rose petals. It is also used as a very tasty mouth freshener. Rose syrup is one of the favorite drinks throughout the year. It also cures depression. The rose syrup can be mixed with milk or chilled water to get a delicious drink.

The praise of rose will always go on and on throughout the life. It is said that most beautiful things in the world are of no use. But this statement is not at all true in the case of rose. It is beautiful and at the same time it is very useful to every individual. So, let this symbol of love bring love and health in everyone’s life.
