Keep Your Kids Away From Cold – Part 2



Kids will easily consume the concoctions that are made up at home.

There are few home remedies:
Wonderful massage:

Massages have proved effective from the ancient times and they are very good with kids as they just love when cuddle them and make them feel better when they are not keeping well.

  • You can warm up some coconut oil in a vessel. Don’t boil it just make it warm.
  • Wonderful massageTenderly rub down the coconut oil for almost five minutes over the kid’s chest.
  • Go over with the same process on the upper portion of the child’s back.
  • Massage should be done just before you put your child to sleep.
  • Very rarely kids oppose to massage but even if they do, then you can massage them when go to sleep.
  • One important precaution to be taken just put off the fans and air conditioners after you have massaged your child. Even keep them away from cold atmosphere as it the effect will turn adversely.

This easy cure will pacify your child and will keep the cough away. And the most importantly they will sleep sound.

Garlic treatment:

Garlic necklaceDon’t worry I won’t ask you to feed your kid with garlic, I myself know it is next to impossible to make them eat. But garlic has some amazing effects on human body and is greatly recommended in Ayurveda.

As most of us aware the benefits of eating garlic. Garlic acts as antioxidant and blood purifier. It also has some amazing effects on the cold and cough.

  • And this cure can be done without consuming it practically.
  • We just need to make a necklace of the six cloves of garlic beading them in normal thread. Tie it around the neck of your child whenever they are sleeping because in day time they will definitely refuse to wear any things that look weird. And leave the rest to the properties of garlic. They will show the miracle themselves.
Basil leaves:
  • Basil leavesBasil leaves acts as wonder on cough and cold. The can just chew some raw basil leaves or give them some basil leaves with a spoon of honey is the best solution on this trouble.
  • You can even use juice of basil leaves rather then using raw basil leaves with honey; it also gives the same amazing effect.
Ginger tea:
  • Ginger teaOne very simple solution is add some few chopped pieces of ginger to the regular tea and let them drink in early morning.
  • It will release all the coldness giving warmth to their body. if you want you can even add ginger juice instead of chopped ginger pieces to the tea.
Turmeric milk:
  • Turmeric milkTurmeric being one of the best for providing heat in the body you can blend some amount of turmeric powder with warm milk and add one spoon of honey.
  • It shows amazing effects on the cold.
  • They should be given before going to the sleep as they put your child to sound sleep.
Foods to be avoided:
  • Foods to be avoidedChildren who are frequently low due to cold and cough them should be given proper diet. And certain food items should definitely be restricted as they add spice to the existing problem.
  • Like banana should be strictly avoided. And the blend of banana and milk is more problematic. So banana milkshakes should be kept away from them.
  • They can sip Soya milk as it is good for health as well as it increases the immune system making them more energetic.
  • Don’t let them eat huge amount of grapes.
  • Lessen down the consumption of tomatoes, black eyed beans, peanuts and any food stuff made from chic pea flour.
  • One more important precaution do not let them drink water after intake of any fruit for at least twenty minutes.
ChocolatesChocolates No- no:

chocolates are really bad when it comes to cough and cold. And to add they make your kids more prone to laziness and mood swings. They contain a lot of ingredients that has to be avoided like flavored fondant and praline. So cease their intake of chocolates instead makes them addicted to fruits. They are healthier and nutritious. But also choose fruits as some fruits may not be good in cold.

I guess this all home remedies are the simplest way to cure your child from cold and cough. Let them smile and sleep sound. Let them breathe in the fresh air.

    I usually make turmeric milk for my kids when they catch a cold and it really helps to stop the cough. Most of time I don’t have to go to the doctor after giving them this home remedy.
