Do You Still Count Stars In Night?

Sleepyhead, close your eyes, mother’s right here beside you.
I’ll protect you from harm; you will wake in my arms.
Guardian angels are near, so sleep on, with no fear.
Guardian angels are near, so sleep on, with no fear.

Lullaby, and sleep tight, hushes! My darling is sleeping,
On his sheets white as cream, with his head full of dreams.
When the sky’s bright with dawn, he will wake in the morning.
When noontide warms the world, he will frolic in the sun.

Go to sleep, little one, think of puppies and kittens.
Go to sleep, little one, think of butterflies in spring.
Go to sleep, little one, and think of sunny bright mornings.
Go to sleep, little one, sleep tight through the night.

Oh! It would have been so beautiful if this lullaby would have worked even today, I would have not been counting stars, counting sheep, counting number in ascending order and so on.

I guess, that’s the reason there is nothing in the universe which can be compared to mums. I wish she would have been on my side, her soothing touch, warm hugs and the way the read your mind, Oh! Chris I mean I sometimes wonder do they have some sort of device that extract out every single word from our mind. It was amazing the way she could sense out my anxiety and just put her palm on my head and would say “ come on Nyah, what’s the matter honey ? “.
And since the day I have parted from her for my profession reasons, it’s been ages that I have slept in sound. But something in life are just this way and now this counting every damn thing on this earth is getting on my nerve.

I have tried almost everything that was recommended by friends, colleagues and well wisher but really nothing was working out. It was just then I said to myself “no one in the world can help me out if I can’t help myself.” Like it is been said “If you can’t sleep, don’t count sheep. Talk to the shepherd “. I will have to figure out myself what is running my life? And like my mum says “I can do wonders if I keep myself calm “and it did work out. I found the culprit that had took my sleep away. Well, it was stress that was the major factor that made my nights sleepless. No doubt, a professional life is full of stress but it is you who have to tackle with it.

It was not just that my sleep that was affected by stress but also my social relations, my lifestyle and more importantly my work were getting suffered. I had come to conclusion that if I don’t take it seriously I was on edge of having struck with INSOMNIA. Let me guys inform you, no doubt insomnia is a disease it doesn’t kills you practically but yes it does kills you mentally. And, as it is said “bad news travel more fast “. And it is better to learn swimming then relying lifeguards.

Sleep and stressAfter doing a lot of research, I got solutions to my own problems but during my own research I found that almost 60% population experience disturbed sleep or complete sleeplessness, either chronically or occasionally and hence I decided to share every nuts and bolts with you everyone. It is good to share, right?

Ok then Insomnia, well it is a symptom of sleep disorder which is   characterized by persistent difficulties to fall asleep or staying asleep. Insomnia is a symptom, not a disease. By definition, insomnia is “difficulty to maintaining sleep” and it may be due to inadequate quality or quantity of sleep. It is not just poor sleep but also the quality of sleep that matters. It’s like you are worried and even you sleep for more then the required hours it doesn’t make any changes. The quality affects a lot.

Let me clarify that there are three types of insomnia.

Transient insomnia is the ones which last from days to week. This is caused by changes in sleeping environment, timings of sleep, severe depression, or by stress.

Acute insomnia is the inability to sleep consistently well for a period three weeks to six months. And chronic insomnia lasts for years at a time. Its effects vary according to its causes. They might include sleepiness, muscular fatigue, hallucinations, but people with chronic insomnia often show increased alertness. Some people that live with this disorder see things as though they were happening in slow motion, wherein moving objects seem to blend together. Which even causes double vision?

In all this one ting which we have found common is STRESS. Like a dark cloud it tries to overshadow the sunlight. We just need to have patience and be calm during this phase and never turn in return to sleeping pills to give you the solutions.

The biggest solution to avoid stress is: Stop Worrying.

Two words that can create magic in your life. The only condition is that we implement it. “Worrying is like a rocking chair- it gives you something to do but it doesn’t take you anywhere.” So, guys stop worrying and especially at bedtime. It was said by Lara Boyle “It’s not bad sleeping with Einstein “but I would like to follow Irish saying ‘a good laugh and long sleeps are the best cures in the doctor’s book “

Apart from physical causes such as organic malfunctioning it is anxiety- in all breadth and complexity of that concept- which explains most sleep aberrations. I want people to focus on this point that anxiety is the main reason that causes nightmares and night terrors in children and we when flashed some more light we found that this are the most frequent causes of sleep walking and talking in sleep. So it is better to follow “The best advice is found on pillow “.

Environmental and dietary factors also play a prominent role In addition to this; insomnia can be caused by emotional arousal, pain, caffeine, drugs, alcohol. And there are ample of ways to drive out this problem from your life. Likewise:

  • Have a hot bath, “Running water kills the evil crippling in your mind “.
  • Try to enjoy your sleep with some humorous books
  • Instead of taking some stupid pills switch yourself to some herbs that can create magic in your sleep.
  • Get implemented hard on evergreen formula of yoga and meditation in your daily schedules.
  • And the Simplest way is execute a simple formula in life laid by William Blake: Think in the morning, Act in the noon, Eat in the evening, Sleep in the night.
  • Lastly, nothing can make your night most lovely, what just a small talk with your loved can make. Have a small good night talk with the one you love, you care and I promise you the most beautiful sleeps of your life.

I have shared everything on how to make a heaven out of hell so its your turn to implement and execute the solutions.  So grab your quill, take a plunge in beautiful dream and doze off guys. GOOD NIGHT AND SWEET DREAMS.
